CONGRATS TO ANDREW AND TIERNEY

Meet the newest member of our extended family. Tierney Johanson Syndergaard. Congratulation to both of you. Andrew is our last cousin, on either side of the family to get married. He has searched for a long time for this girl and she seems to fit the bill with him. He is quite the outdoors man: hikes, repels, and more and she can keep up with him. Good for you Andy a.k.a. Cosmo.

The day was spent at the Salt Lake Temple, Gardner Village at the Gathering Place, and Liberty Park for a reception. The day was gorgeous, a little windy and the park was great for the kids, because there are a lot of them and they had some place to run, play, chase, play Red Rover and just have a great time, while the rest of us caught up with each other and enjoyed the outdoors. Welcome to our loud, silly, crazy (in a good way) family!

JANESSA IS FIVE

This little gal turned 5 today. She is such a fUnny little girl. She has a smile as wide as the Mississippi River, she has a little bit of a raspy smoker's voice and she is full of energy.
It is hard to believe that she turned five today. I remember like it was just a few weeks ago that she was born into this world into a room full of people (noisy people to boot) and she was one of the skinniest, blondest babies I had ever seen!

Her mom threw a birthday party for her tonight, complete with cake and ice cream (thanks Trevor for sharing parts of your cake with me). Austin and Ashlynne had a blast running around the back yard with Christopher, Janessa and Gage (the dog).
Then it was time to go home and as I stepped out the back door and onto stone steps similar to this (except the steps were stone or a stone facade, instead of brick, my foot apparently missed one of those three steps going down and I fell directly into....

this>>>

The dog pail, filled with water, down my hand went into the pail, my purse on the ground, then the pail tips over from my weightiness and fills my purse full of water.
Karyn, Aubrey and Dad Powell are trying to help me out by taking things out of my purse, mostly about 20 pounds of water, wiping them off, deciding what can be salvaged and what needs to be thrown away.

Oh, did I mention that Mom Powell and Aubrey were in the kitchen trying to assist me "from" falling by attempting to catch me while sitting about 10 feet away at the kitchen table. And the pail full of water just happened to be the dog's water pail. Yep, I went straight into it.

I laughed about it later and assured them I wasn't going to bring a law suit against them.
Now that I am home, all of the contents of my purse are lain out on the futon to dry.

So Janessa, I hope you had a great birthday, it will certainly be one I remember for awhile and I probably will not be showing my corpulent, weighty-self around the Powell's home for some time, due to a bruised ego and a bruised hand and hip!

About Me

My photo
Keith and I were married on October 12,1996 in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple. We have no children but raised one child, Kassie, who is actually my niece. We have 3 adorable grandchildren, Austin 5, Ashlynne 4, and Andrew 1. It has become apparent that our home has an OPEN-DOOR policy, since a lot of people have come and gone through our doors. I retired from the medical profession in Aug of 2007 after nearly 30 years and spend my time taking care of these three very lively, often funny,and very active children. My mother lives with us, however she is serving in the Illinois Peoria Mission and will return in July of 2011. Keith is an R.N. and works at a local rehab center in the Mental Health department. One day we hope to finish our home and travel more;
